social norms

I had a killer migraine earlier tonight so when I was on the Q train, I held my coat over my face to block out the glaring lights. People sitting next to me would ask what was wrong, which was nice. I also overheard people nearby wondering what was going on with me. I know I broke a social norm by doing something so out of the ordinary on the train, but I’m glad I did it. When my migraines are really bad, I cry; I know I preferred hiding my face for an hour to having people see me cry and be all snot-covered.
